concept art for Cookeshi videogame - environments

These are some of the concepts I made years ago for an extremely fun and interesting project called Cookeshi, a videogame about building and running a Japanese restaurant. The project is currently on hold, I really hope it will see the light one day, because I think it's cute and hilarious.
The whole visual language of the game, environments and characters had to be developed from scratch. The main requirement was that it had to look like a miniature world, like a dolls house for Japanese kokeshi dolls (hence the pun Kokeshi - Cookeshi for the game title LOL!).
I was deeply influenced by my love for everything Japanese and by what I saw during my trips to Japan.
Thanks to Deanna Greyoak for giving me the chance to work on this project!
